EGV at Dutch Hydrogen Days!

🎓 Recap of our attendance at the Vakbeurs Energie!

Two weeks ago, we represented the Learning Community 'Working safely with Hydrogen' at the ZeroEmission Ecomobiel conference by hosting a workshop and being present at the exhibition floor. Together with industry experts, we explored how education and collaboration are the foundation of safe hydrogen implementation.

Facilitated by our colleague Pauline van der Vorm and Constant Staal from Hogeschool Rotterdam, this collaborative learning experience brought together industry professionals, researchers, and students to learn from real-world applications of hydrogen technology. Through three hands-on case studies, we simulated a classroom setting where ideas could flow. We focused on the application of hydrogen in the following sectors:

🚢 Shipping - Maritime engineer Erin van Rheenen shared practical safety protocols for hydrogen fuel systems on vessels and discussed the difficulties of transforming the standards of the shipping industry
✈️ Aviation - Aviation specialist Bendert de Roy van Zuidewijn explored passenger and crew safety aboard hydrogen aircrafts
🌱 Horticulture - Researcher Ruben van Duren from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences demonstrated how he is working on safely integrating hydrogen energy and fuel solutions.

In this workshop, it was proven again how hydrogen safety expertise grows fastest when we create spaces where education, research, and industry meet. Therefore, we want to thank the participants of the session and hope to be in contact with them in the future!
