Maassluis energy transition lab
Building on Maassluis’s maritime innovation, we are launching a 10-year learning program to create an energy-self-sustaining harbor. Together with residents, companies, and the municipality, we test and develop renewable energy solutions in real-world conditions. Maassluis will become a living laboratory, where proven technologies, hands-on learning, and local expertise drive the transition to a fully renewable harbor.
The Learning Community Maassluis operates from Loods M, a maritime and cultural hub and field lab located in the harbour of Maassluis. From this inspiring real-world environment, students collaborate with the municipality, businesses and other local partners on current challenges related to climate, energy and water.
Focused on energy generation, conversion, storage, and the integration of emerging energy carriers.
Focused on system integration, governance, and scaling solutions across cities and ports.
