Redesign sterilization tray used in hospitals to use less material and last longer
Hospitals rely on aluminum sterilization containers and stainless-steel wire baskets wrapped in disposable blue wrap, both with environmental and practical drawbacks. Students design a next-generation circular tray or fixation system using 20% less material, with longer lifespan, recyclable components, optimal sterilization, supported by stakeholder mapping, CAD and life cycle assessment.
