STROOM - Alphen
STROOM is the leading platform where entrepreneurs, educational institutions, knowledge centers, residents, and the government collaborate on innovative solutions for the energy transition and other societal challenges in the Groene Hart (Green Heart). Together, we turn ideas into action. We connect initiatives, share knowledge, and work on projects that demonstrate what is possible when people join forces.

In Benthuizen, research is being conducted on how a local energy community can share energy more intelligently. Students are analyzing the energy consumption and generation of multiple facilities, simulating scenarios involving storage and additional generation, and advising on how local energy management can lead to more efficient, affordable, and robust energy use.

This assignment focuses on small-scale consumers at the ITC business park who are facing constraints due to grid congestion. Through interviews, inventories, and analysis, their energy needs and bottlenecks are being mapped out, with the goal of supporting them in identifying feasible technical, organizational, and financial solutions

About STROOM
We believe that change begins with collaboration. Driven by our vision, we are building a region where learning, working, and innovating converge. STROOM originated from the Energietransitiehuis Groene Hart and is now evolving into a network that focuses on action over words.

Green Campus
A second Learning Community is being established on Curaçao with a focus on “the healthy neighborhood.” The focus of this LC is on mapping and improving the health of the inhabitants of Curaçao. The poorer section of the population in particular suffers from obesity and a lack of opportunities for healthy activities. This theme can be interpreted very broadly, so to get a better idea, below is an overview of the themes that fall under this LC.
During these projects, you will travel to Curaçao for a period of approximately 2–3 months (flexible). The University of Curaçao will act as your client while you collaborate with a broad network of stakeholders throughout the project.
