Green Campus
A second Learning Community is being established on Curaçao with a focus on “the healthy neighborhood.” The focus of this LC is on mapping and improving the health of the inhabitants of Curaçao. The poorer section of the population in particular suffers from obesity and a lack of opportunities for healthy activities. This theme can be interpreted very broadly, so to get a better idea, below is an overview of the themes that fall under this LC.
During these projects, you will travel to Curaçao for a period of approximately 2–3 months (flexible). The University of Curaçao will act as your client while you collaborate with a broad network of stakeholders throughout the project.
TU Delft is working through CREFM on a circular approach to construction on campus. Previous steps include the implementation of circular policies, a materials marketplace, and several pilot projects. Next to that, together with PreZero, TU Delft is exploring how waste streams on campus can be processed in a more high-value manner.
Making monumental buildings more sustainable presents unique challenges: interventions must be energy-efficient while also respecting architectural heritage.
In the pursuit of more sustainable energy sources, TU Delft is exploring the potential of small-scale wind energy on campus.
