On Wednesday August 27th, the working group for Beethoven: Learning Communities organised their first kick-off meeting. As part of the Beethoven Zuid Holland Project, Even Groene Vrienden (Delft University of Technology’s learning community ecosystem) will take the lead in forming three micro-learning communities on topics regarding the semiconductor industry. During today’s meeting, our partners identified various topics of interest, and narrowed down the three corresponding challenges for the Beethoven learning communities on the semi-con industry:
Critical Raw Materials & Circularity; towards zero-waste
Robotisation; effective use and integration of robots
Education & Talent Development; (futureproof) transformative skills & competences
We are committed to working together with our stakeholders in co-creating a learning environment that accelerates the co-creation of relevant new knowledge and pushes the needle on integrating societal impact into research and education. As such, we are very thankful for the involvement in today’s session by Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), the Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (HR), the Rotterdam Academy, Municipality of The Hague, and the Leiden Instrument Maker School (LIS). All are already learning partners within other existing Even Groene Vrienden learning communities.
Why Partner With Each Other?
Our philosophy is that these communities provide an overarching infrastructure in which education & research institutions, public sector, private companies, and civil society come together as equal learning and innovation partners. The knowledge that is co-created remains within the learning community, facilitating accelerated innovation, implementation and improvement through its iterative learning cycles.
In doing so, learning communities are uniquely positioned to contextualise knowledge and enrich learning through cross-boundary epistemic exchange. The latter helps bridge the gap between science and society, theory and practice, and moving from complex and abstract challenges to tailormade actionable work packages.
Beethoven Zuid-Holland offers an amazing platform to further strengthen the partnership between education, research, and praxis, making it a great fit for Even Groene Vrienden. Together, we can contribute to an innovative hightech sector that supports an inclusive and sustainable future society.
